Featuring a double cutaway solid Mahogany body with a AAA Flame Maple Veneer top, ProBucker™ humbuckers with coil-tapping, a treble bleed circuit to maintain clarity at reduced volumes, and Grover™ 18:1 ratio tuners.

AAA Flame Maple Top and Double Cutaway

The original Del Rey was one of Epiphone’s most loved contemporary designs when it was first produced in 1995 offering players an eye-catching double cutaway design with good upper fret access. Today, the new DC PRO improves upon that tradition with a Mahogany body with a double cutaway AAA Flame Maple veneer top for a rich tone with incredible sustain. The Mahogany deep set neck has a unique and comfortable “C” profile and a Pau Ferro “all access” fingerboard with 24 medium jumbo frets, a 24.75" scale, a 12" radius, and Graph Tech™ 43mm nut. The fingerboard has Pearloid and Abalone “block and triangle” inlay and the Sloped Dovewing headstock has Epiphone’s iconic 1940s era “Vine” inlay with the Epiphone logo in pearloid. The headstock, body, and fingerboard have cream binding and there is no pickguard. The DC PRO is available in Black Cherry, Faded Cherry Sunburst, Midnight Ebony, Mojave Fade, and Wild Ivy color finishes.

ProBuckerTM Humbuckers w/Coil-tapping and Treble Bleed Circuit

The new DC PRO is powered by critically acclaimed ProBucker™ humbucker pickups featuring Alnico II magnets with a ProBucker 2™ in the neck position and a ProBucker 3™ in the bridge position. The ProBucker 3™ is slightly overwound to provide balance with the neck pickup with an added bit of edge for lead work. ProBuckers™ recreate the sound of hand wound 1950s era “PAF style” pickups. Each pickup also features coil-splitting activated by a push/pull control at each pickup’s Volume knob allowing players an infinite variety of sounds from single-coil bark to full humbucker bite. In addition, each Volume pot has a “Treble Bleed Circuit” which helps to maintain clarity and high-end response as volume is decreased. In a typical volume pot, your tone gets slightly “duller” or “muddy” as you decrease volume. The Treble Bleed Circuit helps select high frequencies “bleed” into your tone when playing at a lower volume. The circuit is further enhanced by the addition of a Phase reversal feature on the neck Tone push-pull potentiometer.

Classic Epiphone Hardware

The new DC PRO features Epiphone's legendary rock-solid hardware including a LockTone™ Tune-o-matic fully adjustable bridge and LockTone™ Stopbar tailpiece. And now, Epiphone's patented design auto locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed! Epiphone's all-metal toggle switch uses rugged spring-steel contacts to ensure years of reliable service and performance and the standard ¼ output jack features an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability. Tuning is fast and accurate with Grover™ machine heads with a 18:1 tuning ratio. An optional hard case is available through Authorized Epiphone Dealers.
